Small 8vo, red quarter leather over marbleized boards, (6) 227 (1). Two title pages, the one stating new edition with an engraved frontispiece across from it, the other with the 1826 date. Worn covers, firm binding, interiors generally clean. A scarce edition: OCLC lists an 1813 and an 1829 edition, but none for 1826. Barbara Hofland (1770 - 1844) was an English writer of some 66 didactic, moral stories for children and about family life and relationships, and of schoolbooks and poetry. She was asked by architect John Soane to write a description of his still extant museum in London's Lincoln's Inn Fields. This title is her sixth book, Very Good. Item #013921
