Quarter brown cloth over tan paper-backed boards. Some loss to cloth over spine; still bindings are firm. Most distinctive about these volumes is the early use of chromolithographed, pictorial labels on the spines, a publisher's improvisation with a new printing technology that did not persevere, as the process became more effectively applied in text illustration.
