Boston: John P Jewett & Company, 1852. 1st Edition. Hardcover. A pairing of Twentieth Thousand copies, similar but bound by different binders. The same gilt-pressed pictorial on the front covers, but blind-pressed with different patterns. The brown cloth is different: one narrowly ribbed, the other pebbled. The gilt titles on the spine are the same typeface but positioned differently. Spines slightly cocked in both, and both show obvious wear to cloth particularly at hinges and spine tips. Volume I has its signature with the title page springing. Volume 1 has dull pink endpapers, Volume II light yellow. Good. Item #013902
