FRED COLLINS SHINE BOOK ON SHOE SHINING IN THE HOME. WRITTEN ESPECIALLY FOR WOMEN AND CHILDREN.

Wenatchee WA: Printed for the author by Johnson, Duell & Co, 1941. 1st Edition. Soft cover. Printed illustrated wraps, 83p, illustrated. Mr. Collins is noted as "The man who has shined and cleaned 1,500,000 shoes.the originator of the HOT SHINE." Title page notes also that this is "A History making Edition" Signed by Mr. Collins in red ink on the title page. Much of the text is detailed instructions about how to spruce up pretty much any kind of shoe, with particular attention to women's shoes of different leathers, fabrics, etc. The last section of some 30 pages is titled "The Big Broadcast" and it seems to be some sort of autobiographical account of how Mr. Collins got into the shine business, presented as if on the radio - very chatty and amusing. Uncommon in special collections; OCLC notes only 8 copies. Scarce in the marketplace. Near Fine. Item #013877
