Item #013850 At One-Thirty. Isabel Ostrander.

At One-Thirty

NY: W. J. Watt, 1915. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Uncommon mystery from best-selling author Ostrander who used her own name and the pseudonyms Robert Orr Chipperfield, David Fox, and Douglas Grant. At One-Thirty is regarded as her first book, although it may have appeared as a serial in a magazine under a nom-de-plume. In the 1920s, Ostrander was notable enough that Agatha Christie parodied her in her Tommy and Tuppence anthology, Partners in Crime. We find Tommy and Tuppence modeling their detective skills after Ostrander's characters, McCarty and Riordan. Distinctive cover design; green cloth, blind pressed and stsmaped in cream to suggest a grandfather's cloth with the title "at 1.30" Uncommon. Very Good. Item #013850
