Dragonwyck was released in 1946 by Twentieth Century-Fox.] It was directed by Joseph L. Mankiewicz, and produced by Darryl F. Zanuck and Ernst Lubitsch (uncredited), from a screenplay by Mankiewicz, based on the novel Dragonwyck by Anya Seton. The music score was by Alfred Newman, and the cinematography by Arthur C. Miller. The film stars Gene Tierney, Walter Huston, and Vincent Price. Mankiewicz, producer, director and screenwriter one 4 Oscars, 2 both years, back to back in 1950 and 1951 for screenplay and direction for A LETTER TO THREE WIVES and ALL ABOUT EVE. Regrettably toward the end of his career, as director, he took the blame for the controversial and box office failure of CLEOPATRA with Burton and Taylor. Very Good. Item #013709
