Title page inscribed by the artist "Christmas Greetings for Elodie and Bob. Herbert 1961". Herbert Bayer was a member of the notable German art school and its subsequent art movement, the Bauhaus group. Educated under masters such as Kadinsky, Klee, and Moholy-Nagy, founder Walter Gropius appointed Bayer the director of the School's Printing and Advertising departments. Using theories of reductive minimalism, Bayer produced typefaces, drawings, and masteries of modern graphic design in Europe and America. Uncommon inscribed.
