In uncommon, original green cloth bnding ecorated in gilt, 8vo, all edges gilt, xvi, [13] - 454, with engraved portrait, engraved additional title, seven full page engraving and a large folding lithographic plate in rear. Cloth moderately soiled, title page springing. Sound, unsophisticated copy. PROVENANCE: Copy owned by Edwin Weld Corning (1836-1871), the son of Erastus Corning I, who was the president of the New York Central Railroad and mayor of Albany, with Edwin's bookplate on the front pastedown and inscribed to Edwin "from his affectionate cousin Emma."
