NY: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1885. 1st Edition Thus. Hardcover. Subscription edition, 1885. 8vo, blue, polished fine weave cloth over blue "cruushed" cloth, gilt to spine. An apparently unused set, slightest rubbing to spine ends and corners here and there and some spotting to edges but the nicest set we have seen. Original ownership stamp (1880s typography) of C.W. Mowry each volume. The last three volumes are the History of the Navy in the Civil War. All plates, tissue guards extant and foldouts in original folds. The collectible set. Near Fine -. Item #012910
