Chicago: The Bookhouse Publishers, 1928. 1st Edition Thus. Hardcover. A nicely, uniformly preserved complete set of this version of The Bookhouse. Uniform white-green faux-leather, each with a different pictorial pastedown front cover, each with a different anthology, with fiction and fictional writings by authors from Cervantes to Teddy Roosevelt, selected by editor Beaupre. Endpapers by illustrator Wilhotte and her text decorations, all in color, are quite charming, but our favorite art is N. C. Wyeth's The Deerslayer, the cover art for Volume 4. Volume 1 has a small loss to the pictorial pastdown by Milo Winter. It also bears an ownership name dated 1929. Very Good+. Item #012473
