Rigaud and others. A solid, unsophisticated set, with scuffing and age wear as usually seen. The five compartments of the spine are ruled in gilt, red and black leather labels with two simple gilt devices lower compartments and royal crown above the letter K in the upper compartment. Internals quite nice, absent foxing. Each and every single free front endpaper is both dated 8/5/25 and signed "C H Litsey", who was Clarence Hays Litsey (1872-1937), brother of author Edward Carlile Litsey (1874 - 1970), who was poet laureate of Kentucky for many years. Clarence must have been very pleased with or very possessive about his set of Voltaire to have penned his name 35 times. Very Good +. Item #012276
