Souvenir program of Diaghileff's first US tour, 12 full page color plates of Bakst's designs for costumes and sets, duotone photographss, each page displayed in Art-Nouveau decorative surround. Laid in is 4 page program for The Century for the performance of Jan 18 (1916 ) - the very first perfomance in the US of Ballet Russe' tour, a program that presented L'Oiseau de Feu (The Firebird), choreographed by Fokine, music by Stravinsky and featuring Massine and Tchernicheva. Two weeks of repertoire also included Prince Igo, l'Apres-Midi d'un Fauine (Afternoon of a Fawn) and Sheherazade. On the last page are the seating plans for the tiers of The Century opera house. Minor short tears to the yapped edges of the souvenir program, which was printed and engraved by The Sacket and Wilhelms Company, New York. Near Fine. Item #012168
