Limited edition of 250 copies, this numbered 206. Portfolio fomat, loose sheets measuring approx. 10.5"x 14.5" in folder with printed title. Four page booklet of notes by David Gebhard, then 12 single sheet plates of reproductions of Elmslie's drawings executed by Elmslie at his architectural firms of Purcell, Felick and Elmslie or Purcell and Elmslie (with William L. Steele). Elmslie (1869 - 1952) was a Scottish-born American Prairie School architect whose worked with Louis Sullivan and later with William Gray Purcell as a partner in the firm Purcell & Elmslie. The plates reflect commissions in the midwest United States, including projects like the E. L. Powers house in Minneapolis, the First National Bank in Rhinelander, WI and other commercial or municipal structures throughout Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois and Iowa.
