INSCRIBED BY Sydney Franklin, one of Hemingway's bullfighter subjects (and the first American bullfighter) on captioned p.388 with the his photo in the arena opposite page. "To Mrs. xxxxx/ with best wishes, y para / que tenga un recuerdo de/ Espana y/ Sydney Franklin/ 2.'33" Laid in on page 388 is a new sclipping from 1959 about Franklin being injured in the sport. Also laid-in are other newspaper clippings on bullfighting front and rear which has caused some toning to th enedpapers. Inscribee's name ffe. Sturdily bound, the book appears unread, cloth near fine. Dustjacket has an internal tape repair, some chipping at spine ends and corners, moderate edgewear. There well may be other copies with Franklin's signature but we've not seen or heard of one before, nor any others signed by any other bullfighter who was Hemingway's subject.
