Ny: McBride, Nast & Company, 1912. 1st Edition. Hardcover. Small 8vo, white stamped titles and decorations on green cloth, 54 pp, 8 b&w full page photos. Minor loss to white stamp front cover, else near fine, lacking dustjacket. Incribed by Tabor on the ffe: "To Samuelk Eastman Kimball - not because he needs it but in spite of teh fact that he doesn't G. T. May 1912" Grace Tabor (1874 -1971), according to Wikipedia, was an American landscape architect, designer, writer, and editor. She was one of the first women to identify herself professionally as a landscape architect, and best known as the author on the subjects of landscape design and horticulture. She authored ten garden books, most of which were published between 1910 and 1921. The book has the private library bookplate of Samuel Eastman Kimball, contemporary to the book. Tabor's inscription and the bookplate suggest Mr. Kimball was "of means" with a property that had been very nicely landscaped, indeed. Signed titles of Tabor are scarce. Very Good. Item #011650
