Rare association copy inscribed to actress and acting coach Tamara Daykarhanova, a Russian emigre and student of Stanislovski: "For Tamara and (unidentifiable Russian name, likely husband or partner) with my love, Horton. Jan 5, 1956" A Texas native, Foote studied acting at the Pasadena Playhouse before moving to NYC where he studied at Tamara Daykarhanova Theatre School, where he was indoctrinated into technique learned by Tamara at Stanislavski's Moscow Art Theatre. Before writing drama for television, Foote had ana early acting career. Foote acknowledges Tamara in his memoirs written decades later. An uncommon association.
