First Dakar Festival of the Negro in the Arts. Senegal. 1966.". Lloyd Garrison was the The New York Times correspondent in Africa in the 1960s, who covered conflicts including the secessionist war in Nigeria. A noteworthy association in that Garrison's grandfather of the same name was the famous abolitionist and publisher of The Liberator, an abolitionist newspaper. Lloyd and his wife Sarah's ownership signature on the half title in Sarah's hand. Worn, toned dustajacket stained along the bottom edge which has trnasversed to the lowere corner pages of the book (not affecting text). Very Good / Fair. Item #011413
